Locally (Omaha, Co/Blfs, etc.) we get on 2M SSB Sunday nights at 8PM. Don WOAF is the usual NC station, but others fill in. Sunday in mid April we had fourteen (14) guys check in and the band was nice and quiet (probably due to a little rain) so everyone could hear well.
.
Shock! We are all using VERTICAL antennas, the same ones we use for FM repeater contacts. That’ll make it a lot easier for you. (You know the standard for 2M SSB is horizontal because it goes a little further.) Don AF was in Glenwood, Larry PYA in Bellevue, and both Mike FAN and Keith AEP out in West Omaha. Phil QDG checked in from Oakland IA too.
.
Remember, it’s Sunday, 8PM, 144.250 (the net freq as opposed to the 144.2 calling freq) just an hour before the regular .94 net at 9PM.
.
P.S. Uh, if you want to listen there on your FM rig, don’t bother. Unless someone is right next door you won’t hear anything. And please don’t transmit.
