This is a Direct Conversion radio.

i.e. It is not a Superheterodyne format receiver. And it does not have an RF stage of amplification. The ‘DC’ part means there is no Local Oscillator and therefore no Intermediate Frequency amp where the superhet gets most of its gain. And because there is only 1 tuned circuit, it may pick up 2 or more stations at the same time. George was asking about it. We could have a little more discussion at the June meeting if the Field Day planning doesn’t go too long.
