The annual Flea-esta hamfest is held in September each year in Springfield Nebraska, sponsored by the Aksarben Amateur Radio Club (www.aksarbenarc.org).
Also in the picture standing in the middle left, green shirt, is Dave KD0VUB. Dave is a frequent participant in local radio nets on 94 and 82. Dave sold a number of VHF radios specifically for the 1.25M (220) band. This is noteworthy because Dave has been a driving force behind promoting use of the 1.25-meter band as well as one of the NetCon operators on the Friday 220 Promote the Band Net.
