Amateur Radio Operator Campout / Parks on the Air

This first weekend in May a group of Ham Radio / Outdoor Enthusiasts will get together to enjoy the great outdoors This is an informal social event invitation and not club sponsored.

What is Provided?   An opportunity to socialize, relax, fish, hike and camp and enjoy the outdoors with fellow HAM’s

What is not Provided?  Everything else “is not provided”.  This is a bring your own (BYO) everything event.

  • All activities including fee’s, camping and parking are subject to park regulations
  • See park information web site for daily use fees and other information.
  • Most will arrive Saturday mid-morning. Stay as long as you like (see park hours)
  • Talk-in Frequency 146.520 simplex (in the park) or the 146.820 SWIARC Repeater
  • You are welcome to stay and camp (secure your own site) or just come join in for part of the day.
  • Activities: Bring your chair, gear, cooler and Hammock and relax. 
  • Radio Activities: Arrowhead Park is a “Parks on The Air” (POTA) opportunity.  A few of us will be getting together at a shelter to contact other parks around the hemisphere to activate Arrowhead Park.  You are welcome to set up and participate or let us get you some first-hand experience with Parks on The Air.  You can bring your own radio and portable antenna or let a control operator assist you to make your first POTA contacts.
  • There will be a GOTA (Get on the Air Station)
  • There are no advance group reservations – all primitive facilities and shelters will be first come first serve.
