On Sunday, September 14, 2019, Southwest Iowa Amateur Radio Club held the annual club fall picnic at Lake Manawa.  The weather was great and the food was good and with 22 members participating.  This was also a Parks on the Air (POTA) event as well.  Band conditions were less than favorable and with storm activity in the area, we had to work for our contacts.  Thirteen contacts were made with five park-to-park QSO’s.   Craig W0NEU, Bill KD0FJR, and Greg N0GR set up stations and served as control operators.   Two Princeton End-Fed antenna’s and one G5RV antenna were used.  

Weather permitting we will try to schedule another POTA tailgate event in November.
