Bring Your Station Parameters listed below to the January Club meeting on Jan 25th at 7:00 pm and there will be help offered to complete a station evaluation.

The FCC introduced new Human Exposure to RF Energy Rules in 1996, in 2021 these rules were changed and the existing exemptions for Amateur Radio Hobbyists were mostly eliminated. The deadline for compliance was May 3, 2023.

If you have to do an evaluation, there’s no need to panic. In most cases, you can do a simple calculation using online RF calculators to complete your requirements.

To perform an evaluation you are going to need a few Station Parameters to input into these online apps, You will need the max power level you can use, the frequency you are using, the antenna gain(in Dbi) of the antenna you are using and the operating mode you are using.

The good news is that there is no paperwork. When you complete your evaluation you have fulfilled the rules requirement. Unless specifically requested by an agent of the FCC, you are not required to submit any paperwork to them. However, it is a good idea for you to keep a copy of your evaluations in your station records.
